OPERATION: SILENT STAR AAR

The OPFOR STARS were in position for a fight when the U.S. Forces inserted. The OPFOR waited an extremely long time for the U.S. to arrive at their first objective. The OPFOR began pondering this dilemma and decided to scout around for the U.S. Forces. A squad of U.S. Forces were found huddled around a creek bed near their insertion point. The OPFOR leader ordered an OPFOR soldier to be captured for tactical reasons. As a result of being captured the soldier infiltrated the U.S. squad and led them to an awaiting ambush at their first objective. Just as the firefight was about to begin the OPFOR soldier escaped and their leader issued the order to retrograde. The U.S. Forces were given a "free pass" to their first objective while the OPFOR set up defensive positions at other suspected objectives.

The ZDF forces were spotted in a large group making their way towards an area of several objectives. The ZDF were tracked and their tactics were observed. It became apparent that the ZDF and U.S. Forces stopped using the "land navigation" techniques that the OPFOR expected. If this was done to confuse the OPFOR then it worked. There didn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason as to the tactics used by the ZDF or U.S. Forces. This caused confusion among the OPFOR soldiers and they had to break into smaller units in order to cover more terrain.

As the day progressed firefights at various locations ensued. The U.S. Forces made an alliance with the ZDF terrorist group and came after the OPFOR. Many of the objectives were captured because the OPFOR was overwhelmed by this newly formed alliance. This wasn’t a tactic the OPFOR expected the U.S. to use.

There were two objectives left at the end of the day. The OPFOR retreated to these two objectives and set up a defensive perimeter. The OPFOR expected and were ready for intense fighting. This was to be the mother of all battles. The assault never came. The OPFOR soldiers were left licking their wounds and scratching their heads.

It appears as if the strategically located objectives, rough terrain, and duration of fighting took its toll on the U.S. Forces. The U.S. Forces were seen retreating towards their insertion point and leaving in awaiting vehicles. The OPFOR STARS immediately began to reoccupy, rebuild, and reinforce the objectives that the U.S. Forces had just captured. The OPFOR STARS are glad to have the objectives back that they worked long and hard for. This celebration may be short lived. New intelligence suggests that the U.S. Forces retreated in order to regroup, retrain, and reorganize. The OPFOR STARS expect the U.S. Forces to return another day with the elite Mike Force One operatives.

OPERATION: SILENT STAR April 15th 8:00am

HISTORY...

The OPFOR STARS are in control of the Zenon Wilderness, and plan to launch attacks from that area. The Zenon Wilderness is located in the small country of Zekistan. The country is surrounded by Tajikstan to the north, Afghanistan to the south, China to the east, and Pakistan to the west. The Zeki dictator established the Zenon Defense Force in an attempt to rid and silence the OPFOR STARS in that area. The Zeki dictator and surrounding countries have sponsored terrorism against the United States for several years. It's possible that the United States may send their elite Mike Force unit to eradicate the OPFOR STARS and the ZDF all at once.

MISSIONS...

To be announced later

LOCATION: Sunday, April 15th in Arroyo Grande. The plan is to meet at 444 Alder Street, Arroyo Grande, CA, 93420 at 0900 hours and convoy to the game site at 1000 hours. I would expect the game to last until 1700 hours, but it could finish sooner if need be. I dont want to stop for lunch if possible. I would like the players to carry a lunch or establish a drop location on the playing field

OPERATION: CHAINSAW AAR

On 8 April insert into the mountains in the Peoples Republic of Santa Cruz by Black Hawk. Move above the suspected Red Star training camp ambush the camp and move east to the Mystic Temple to find the American Traitor Bill Johnson. Eliminate any and all opposition along the way. Good luck this is deep in Red Star territory.  Let's bring this traitor to justice before he can develop for them more advanced weapons technology.

Red Star operational report 8 April 2007

As ordered by Red Star Command, Wolf Pack 4 provided a blocking force for the American Bill Johnston. We ambushed the Americans on the flat above the Brownie camp slowing them down and taking heavy causalities. As they pushed us down the hill toward the training camp they maneuvered to the west flanking our positions on the slop. We kept them at bay for 2 hours in the camp before being pushed out of the camp. We then moved toward the Mystic Temple and set and ambush at 2 positions half way to the temple. The Americans sent a patrol up the road right into the ambush kill zone but the ambush failed in getting the results and a major fire fight ensued. Meanwhile the Yankee dogs moved a unit up the creek into another one of our ambushes. We stopped them there and the Americans moved back to the training camp. As we rallied and re-attacked the Americans caused us many deaths of our brave comrades as we gained a foothold. As night fell the shooting stopped and I ordered  all to hold their position until morning. The Americans have night vision so we held our positions with sound cans at 20 meters. In the morning we found the camp empty for the American Yankee Dogs slipped away in the night. We do not know how many Americans we killed but our body count was 10 Red Star Recon Spetnaz and 51 Reds dead. We will miss our friends.
